What do you think of a historical AG from 1950's?

What do you think about having a doll from the 50's 60's or even 70's?There was allot of historical landmarks,like the 50's music,clothes,Elvis with his long hair(haha),the war,60's Martin luther king civil rights, the Beatles,70's political issues(watergate) and disco, just an example,what do you think?Does anyone favor this or think they would ever make a doll from those eras?

I'd love to see a 1950s doll. Next to Felicity being returned to her rightful place, that's at the top of my AG wish list.

For whatever reason I am totally against post 1940s doll. Why? I don't know. To recent for me.

I would be very dissipointed if Rebecca is a 1950s doll. Please don't keep me waiting any longer for my 1800s Jewish immigrant doll!

I would love a 50's doll. My parents were older, born in 1932, so they would be more Molly's era, but my husband's parents were born in the early 40's. My daughter is almost 7, so she is approaching the "target age group" for AG. I think it would be smart of them to include this era when so many grandparents (who are consumers) would be from that time! I can keep my fingers crossed!! [img]wink.gif[/img]

I like the idea, but I'd like to see more time periods before the 1940's first. And an Asian Historical. I'm not Asian, but I think it's very important to include as many ethnic groups as possible, especially since there's already black and hispanic and Native American girls. What I love about the American Girls is learning about their periods of history and learning about new cultures. Personally, I think if I that want to do a doll from the 50's or later they should do it as an AGOT LE.

Eh, I'd rather see more from the 1800s and even another 1700s doll!! Maybe something with colonial settlers in the 1600s, I'd also love a Jewish doll, a late 1800s/early 1900s immigrant (like my great-grandparents).

I'm with Rebecca and Mare. I think it's a little too soon when there are still so many OTHER time periods that they haven't covered yet.

I would love to see any of those era's. When your seven even 1974 seems forever ago. At school each year I always seem to get an email around graduation about what wasn't around when that years seniors were born. It's amazing what we take for granted. I think DD could learn alot from the 50's, 60's, or 70's.
